Uncle Lionel's Second Line

This is an opportunity to shoot a BIG secondline...

If anyone wants to meet and shoot together, we will be at Cafe Rose Nicaud on 632 Frenchmen St by 5:15PM, the secondline should be near there by 6PM or so...

The second line to remember and honor our beloved Lionel Batiste will start at Tuba Fats Square on the corner of St. Philip and N. Robertson in the Treme, and end at Sweet Lorraine's Jazz Club at 1931 St. Claude. (We are also Asking All Secondline Clubs to Dress out) Here is the route on a map:

Here is the Facebook page:

NOTE: The family asks you NOT WEAR BLACK. White would be preferred, or light colored clothing, dress to the nines, and be ready to celebrate...

I enjoyed going out for this event and plan to go to Uncle Lionel's Funeral tomorrow, being held at Mahalia Jackson Theatre, followed by jazz funeral. I am surprised there is not a meetup for that.

Couldn't tell who all out there was from the group (and got some strange looks when i asked random people with cameras), but good time, great event idea.

Sign at Lorraine states for 7pm. Maybe cause of the rain

Darrell, Parking is always a challenge... Somewhere on Elysian Fields should work, or on the streets toward Bywater. You can also pay to park in a lot on the levee by the French Market (Central Parking, I think).

I looked around and found the start time is set at 5PM in all reports (except for WWL, which has it at 4PM)... I plan to catch it in the Marigny on/around Frenchmen St @ Rampart (can catch it twice there... :-)
