Update Everybody! Please look at the bottom of the page to see descriptions of what is going to be available today. Decide before you go what to focus on! Don't miss this once a year event! Beer Meetup members loved the Pumpkin Mania event and you will be sure to love this one too. Please RSVP Now. Featuring the elusively difficult to acquire Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA on draft! Clocking in at 18% abv, you are going to have to sip this monster slowly. For the complete lineup as it will be this weekend, see the list below. Don't miss the DAZE of the DEVIL Beer Fest at one of NYC's Best Beer Bars: The Hop Devil Grill on St. Mark's Place at Avenue A in the heart of the East Village. This fantastic Beer Bar features 24 carefully selected draft beers and about 50 bottles. Top it off with the best Tex-Mex and tacos in NYC. If you don't like tacos, try the Cuban Sliders or the Cowboys on Broncos. After work this Friday make your way downtown. The East Village is one of the best happy hour areas in the city because it is never packed to the walls at this time. Additionally, Happy Hours lasts til 8pm. All the draft beers are 1/2 off the regular price. That's a major bargain. Plus, the East Village is just plain fun! Join us, meet people, make friends and celebrate! The Daze of the Devil this year has a whole new lineup of extreme beers. Many you probably have never tasted before. These days, beer isn't boring. But, when you do think of an average beer, its about 4 1/2% - 5% alcohol by volume (ABV). That would mean that a beer that is 7% ABV is 40% stronger than your average beer, which is a lot stronger. During the Daze of the Devil, Hop Devil Grill will feature on draft no less than 10 beers which are 8% ABV or stronger. In some cases, much, much stronger! Strong doesn't necessarily mean you are getting a better beer, so these beers are chosen very selectively so that in addition to having a much bigger kick, the experiential taste sensations you get will be commensurably greater as well. What we are saying, folks, is that if you are into big beers with monsterously delicious flavors, you are in for a treat. English Strong Ales, Imperial Stouts, American style Barley Wines, German Doppelbocks, Belgian Tripels and more all fit the bill. Daze of the Devil is a no-holds barred strong ale festival. Check out this amazing lineup: Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish. Brauerei Aying Aying, Germany Doppelbock 6.7% 12 oz Boulder Obovoid Empirical Stout Obovoid on oak adds earthy character to the roasted notes and bittersweet chocolate finish derived from the black and chocolate malts. Boulder Beer Company Boulder, Colorado Oak Aged Oatmeal Stout 8.0% 12 oz Clipper City Heavy Seas Peg Leg The beer is a dry Imperial Stout - creamy and rich with color as black as night. It has aromas of roasted coffee and dark chocolate, hints of molasses, toffee and caramel in the taste. Availability is extremely limited. IBU'S: 30 Malts: Crisp English Pale, Crisp Crystal, Chocolate and Roasted Barley Hops: Styrian Goldings, Fuggles Magnum and Amarillo Clipper City Brewing Co. Baltimore, Maryland Imperial Stout 8.0% 12 oz Delirium Nocturnum A Belgian strong, dark Winter ale from the brewery that makes Delirium Tremens. Brewed by Brouwerij Huyghe Melle, Belgium Belgian Strong Ale 9% 11 oz Dick’s Barley Wine A complex, English style barley wine Dicks Brewing Company Centralia, Washington Barley Wine 10% 12 oz Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45°P, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continually hopped with high alpha American hops, dry-hopped every day in the fermenter for a month, and aged for a month on whole leaf hops, 120 Minute IPA is by far the strongest IPA ever brewed. And at 21% ABV and 120 IBU’s, you can see why we are calling this the Holy Grail for Hopheads. Editors note: ABV reduced down to 18% in 2009. Dogfish Head Brewery Milton, Delaware American Strong Ale 18% 8 oz Lagunitas a Little Sumpin' Extra Pronounced citrus hop aroma, like Myer lemons. Flavor is perfectly balanced, almost prickly citrus skin hops and sweet toasted french bread like malts. Delicious. Lagunitas Brewing Company. Petaluma, California Imperial/Double IPA 8.74 12 oz Ramstein Double Platinum An extra strong Hefe Weizen from NJ High Point Brewing Co. Butler, New Jersey Weizen Bock 7.5 16 ox Pretty Things Baby Tree Baby tree is a "quadruple" brewed with a single strain of Belgian yeast. While a commonly used style name on the internet, "quadruple" isn’t in fact a style name at all but a brand of beer produced by La Trappe in the Netherlands. Its found a common usage as a cover-all for the darkest and strongest beers produced by Trappist monks, mainly because they haven’t named them themselves. Two Belgian brewers use the term "Abt", Flemish for "Abbot". Historically the best beer made in an abbey (by the Cistercians/Trappist s at least) was referred to in Latin simply as "prima melior". This has also become a brand name in recent years. Our "quadruple" benefits from the addition of 40lbs of dried California plums in the kettle - hopefully contributing to the overall dark-fruit character of the beer. It’s a dark, 8.6% beer..."Baby Tree" is Pretty Things’ first seasonal beer. Brewed and bottled by Dann Paquette of Pretty Things Beer and Ale Project, Inc. at Paper City. Not a Paper City brand beer. Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project Cambridge, Massachusetts Belgian style Quadruple 8.6% 11 oz Southern Tier Mokah When empirical and creative impulses collide, the result is often timeless. The classic art of the coffee maker is an example of design and engineering working in concert. It is through similar cooperation that the simple bitter cocoa bean is transformed into a sweet treat. Our brewers utilize their materials to exacting standards, and they couldn’t resist the temptation to combine the best flavors of two of our highly acclaimed Imperial Stouts: Jahva and Choklat. Alone each is perfect, but together as Mokah, they are an inimitable expression of two of the world’s most sought after flavors.! Southern Tier Brewing Co. Lakewood, New York Imperial Stout 11% 12 oz Stone Double Bastard this is a lacerative muther of a beer. The evil big brother of Arrogant Bastard Ale. It is strongly suggested you stay far, far away from this beer. Those foolish enough to venture close enough to taste will experience a punishingly unforgiving assault on the palate. ’Course there’s always the masochists.. Stone Brewing Co. Escondido, California American Strong Ale 10% 12 oz Speakeasy Double Daddy Imperial IPA . Doubling down on malt & hops, DOUBLE DADDY raises the stakes. With it's good looks & No-Limit style,DD takes the pot every time. Speakeasy Ales and Lagers San Francisco, California Imperial/Double IPA 9.5% 12 oz Speakeasy Old Godfather Barley Wine Aroma of piney, floral hops. Dark amber with large cream color head. Copious lacings. Strong hop presence with rich roasted malts. Good balance for such a powerful brew. An enjoyable experience. Speakeasy Ales and Lagers San Francisco, California Barley Wine 10.2% 12 oz Victory Golden Monkey Enchanting and enlightening, this golden, frothy ale boasts an intriguing herbal aroma, warming alcohol esters on the tongue and light, but firm body to finish. Exotic spices add subtle notes to both the aroma and flavor. Strong, sensual and satisfying. Victory Brewing Company Downingtown, Pennsylvania Abbey Tripel 9.5% 11 oz

Hey Everybody! Its that time of year again when you can begin sucking in the malty goodness of Oktoberfest lagers from Germany. Also called "marzens" these delicious beers are highly drinkable (they make great session beers) and go great with bratwurst. For 12 years David Copperfield's House of Beer has converted its Upper East Side pub into a German Beer Hall at Oktoberfest time and runs the event for the same period of time that Munich Germany does. That means, this year, it will go from Sept. 19th all the way to Oct. 4th! All Oktoberfest beers are availble in large Liter Steins and german specials will be available too. Expect to drink Spaten, Hacker-Pschoor, Lowenbrau, Ayinger, and Hofbrau Oktoberfest. Look for Bratwursts, Weisswursts, and Bauernwursts, Schnitzel mit Kartoffelsalat and kraut, and Sauerbraten. Mmmmmm
