probably some people are happier back in the colonial days! Brit governments has the best systems (common laws, judicial systems, efficient, corruption free mgmt practice) and it is better than other colonists (french, dutch,etc)

well, there are people who will be happier post 97

-ABC chinese who graduated from top universities in US and looking for banking opportunities in US. Multi companies love to dispatch people with chinese background to HK (Asia regional hub)

-China is getting stronger. If you are lucky (with background and tie to the party definitely help), opportunities are definitely abundent in post 97 world!
