Every Saturday we hold a Meetup at the City Ice Pavilion on their general public session and skaters of all skill levels are welcome. The City Ice Pavilion is in an industrial area that feels a bit strange to walk around in at night. That's good for those brave souls that are willing to walk the two blocks from the subway and also the ones like me who drive to the rink.

The session is getting a bit more crowded than it was at the beginning of the season but I'm hoping that things will get back to our normal quiet session soon but it still is a great deal at $4.00 for an admission fee and almost three hours of ice time.

Skate rental is another $6.00 and coin operated lockers are available for 75 cents

At a social ice dance session skaters get together and do what are called the compulsory ice dances. Those are ice dances that have a set pattern of steps that are done the same way every time the dance is skated. This allows skaters to skate with different partners because they both know what to expect from the other to a degree.

Our session is a great opportunity for skaters who want to take their skating to the next level because we have some very experienced ice dancers coming to the session who want to grow an ice dancing community here in NYC and are willing to show others how to do it to get them involved. Ice dancing is a total blast, great exercise and a great way to meet new friends. You get a great workout and it's way more fun than going to the gym.
