Shooting breaking news video clip story footage for television news broadcasts and shooting news scene photos for newspapers and online news photo / video distribution websites is a highly specialized craft of photography.
Television news stations, broadcast TV news networks and newspapers regularly purchase, license, broadcast, air and print the breaking news video footage and news scene photo image coverage of independent news gatherers, news stringers, photojournalists, videojournalists, solo video journalists on a daily basis.
Members of the News Photographers and Videographers Group will learn the proper techniques for shooting, framing, composing, lighting, recording audio, writing and editing news video clip footage into useable on-air news stories. Digital still frame photographers will also learn exposure and using your camera settings effectively.
Members will be given the opportunity to go out in the field and do a ride-along with a news crew in the Los Angeles and Orange County Areas to practice shooting news photos and or news video clips of real crime scenes, crash scenes, fires, rescues, police chases and pursuits and every type of breaking news story that you might see in a regular television news broadcast.
Members should have an interest in learning news photography / videography. Additional interests might include; journalism, news reporting, video editing, news writing, news production, television entertainment production, documentary video and film making, video production.
Advice and opportunities will also be presented to those photographers / videographers who are interested in a potential career path in television news photography / videography. All members will learn how to make extra money shooting and selling news photo images and news video clips.

Future Meeting Room Locations Needed!
Please suggest a location for future meetings in Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside and San Bernadino areas. A room with a projector and screen would be nice. Even a larger Starbucks where we could take over a corner would work.
