Thanks for the helpful feedback. Story first, world second..got it. Here is a link to the hints for worldbuilding. The writer is Chuck Wendig. You can subscribe to his blog and get some knockout emails about writing.

I enjoyed all the submissions! Great job submitters! And it was great seeing everyone! This is just a meaningless sentence, so I could use another exclamation point!

Good to be back again. Looking forward to next month and improving my critiquing.

Heads up, guys. There's a new, exceptionally evil piece of malware out there, called 'CryptoLocker'. It encrypts your files, then asks for ransom, in Bitcoin. Ransom is hundreds to thousands of dollars. It may or may not work to get your files back. (Usual advice is not to cooperate, call the FBI, and kiss your files goodbye.) This thing is usually spread as an attachment on email.

The reason this is of especial interest to us is that it encrypts not only your main hard disk, but files on all attached devices, both physical and in the cloud.

That includes Dropbox. If *any* of us gets infected with this thing, all the story files in Dropbox will be lost, for everyone. A major disaster for the infected user, an annoyance for the rest of us.

I don't *think* it can spread to other PC's via Dropbox. Right now, CryptoLocker only runs on Windows, but Mac and Linux versions will surely come.

This is the most evil malware I've heard of in years. Don't open any email attachments that you weren't expecting. Ever. And keep backups of anything that's important -- like your writing! -- somewhere that's not connected to your PC, and doesn't automatically sync to your PC, like Dropbox does. I just compressed my writing folders and emailed them to my gmail account.

Thanks but I have an OS system problem not a dropbox problem. I have found backdoors to get what's in the dropbox and the secret is not to download it in the computer.

Manuel, you don't even need to get the Dropbox app working on your computer. You can always go to the Dropbox website, dropbox.com, and sign in. On the site, you can access all your Dropbox folders, including the Mermaid ones.

Is Manuel's submission called "Space Attack?" I see only three pages. Is that correct?

John: I have been touch typing for fifty years. My fingers will not change. However, I did the find and replace for period and two spaces, replace with period and one space and it works. I did have to go back to change sentences ending in question marks.

Hi, how is the parking around the mermaid in. Is it street parking or do they have their own lot?

There is ample street parking, no meters, too. I never have a problem.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
