Ice Skating in the City

Hi guys, I am new to this, but thought I should share this great activity I found on the visitnewcastle.com.au site. For those of us lucky enough to be on the list for Michael & Neil's party on the saturday, this could be a great follow up event on the sunday - & hence why I put late afternoon for hung over party goers :)

Anyone that fancies a go at ice skating please come along... should be a laugh :)) I am taking my kids who are 12 & 14 but not the dog this time (I try & include him as much as poss but can't afford the extra pair of skates he would need... lol)

Hope to see you there!

Very shaky at first, fell down in the first few mins. Held on to the railing for the first hour. Some kids where better than me than the music got better and I could get a rhythm going. I surprised myself I could do a few dance steps to get moving(thanks to wearing heels, who said I was wasting my time dressing up? I am good in heels, ladies, I have you know. I dance in heels in my shows.) and turn around. I had a heavy fall and Helene had to rescue me with those push seal things. After a few mins hurting I went out for some more practice not to fall over. When we had enough we went to the park at the back to listen to some band and had a sausage sandwich and bottled water and played with the bubbles from the bubble machine. I am now sore however it was fun.

Yes Michael, Neil2 is thinking of putting on a meetup around one of my shows. There are no shows now as the club is getting changed and the stage is being moved and then we have back access to the stage from the ready room.

Also Michael, the promoter is getting me to do older songs in one show and I do my own stuff in another show. He wants to put me in two different shows for the time being until I get more experienced and we just hijacked Helenes comment to Richelle. Sorry Helene.

Well I was coming, if it's still on!! But I have unfortunately dropped a 3lb dive weight on my foot this morning and it's too swollen. Sorry guys.

I am really sorry to do this, but I have to pull out. Finances are in dire straits .. $sch had $200 last week, daughter needed new shoes that could hold out in the rain, & I still got that $298 parking fine ... something had to give. When I do something I usually have to X it by 3. When I get work you won't be able to hold me back!

I can't make it either as I came down sick yesterday, and today's preparations and tonight's party will probably just make me worse ;)

The last time I ice skated I just about broke my ankle and my hands became raw from falling over a lot and I crashed into people. I would be safer if I was pushed around like the kid in the picture, lucky kid.

I agree, it is expensive, but I have spent more on crap meals out for me & the kids, at least this should be a laugh .. & I still have that $298 parking fine to pay on my way to the Gumtree picnic meetup at the lighthouse .. & I'm not even currently employed :/ but I can't pass up an opportunity to make happy memories with my kids - we have never skated together - should be fun :))

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
