Among the trees 'Camp Out Barbecue'

Camp over Barbecue and relax around a bon fire in bush setting.

Plenty of space so bring a tent and sleeping bag so you can sleep over and enjoy the natural bush setting.

Bring food and drink for bush barbecue evening.

Plenty of space and activities for kids and there is also water and a toilet available.

Morning well being thoughts & Yoga meditation - otherwise sleep in and enjoy the rest!

FACILITIES

  • Very large 2 room tent. Needs to be picked up from Hamilton.
  • A 4 person tent. (Note sure where this is - Mr Michael Meetup Man)
  • Some bunks in the house which was an old school room. Kiddies could probably sleep in there.
  • 3 camp beds (?)
  • Flushing toilet.
  • Water tank with tap.
  • Wood fired BBQ hot plate.
  • Projector to watch movies or music videos

THINGS TO BRING

  • Camping gear (eg tent, bedding)
  • WARM CLOTHES - it will get COLD. So warm bedding too, preferably a bed that will keep you off the ground.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

  • Expect a 1.5 hour drive
  • Phone reception is unreliable to the point of non-existant. May occasionally get reception if with Telstra. Otherwise need to drive back down the road to Booral.

DIRECTIONS

  • Hit the Pacific Highway, take the turn off that says to Stroud, onto Bucketts Way.
  • Follow through to Booral
  • At Booral you will be turning right onto Booral Road (sign says to Buladelah). Follow this for approx 12.2 - 12.3km.
  • You are getting close when you go over Lewis Creek (look out for the sign as the trees can hide the creek) which puts you 600 metres away. Turn right into Greys Lane. This is a gravel road and very easy to miss as it is on a right hand bend. See photo above. Bicycle no longer there but yellow sign is.
  • The Google Map link above is a tad off. The entrance is further along at the apex of the bend. This Google Map link here has Google Street View activated along with a marker on where you need to be looking.

FINAL NOTES

  • Any one own a chainsaw?
  • Free firewood to take home if you want.

Oh yea....You hear about trouser snakes right?...well we had a cpl of them at the camp site but who has heard of a trouser spider??? Not me...untill Saturday night that is! I shall post a pic of the 7 1/2 legged bugger very soon...3/4 the way up the inside of my pants, could have been interesting if it went all the way...a fight between a python & a black spider...OMG!

    June 10, 2013

  • Malcolm K.

Thank you Sharon for your generous offer to camp out at your cute little cottage.
All went well...no injuries, towing logs, shaking spiders out of jeans, dancing on burning logs! & no chainsaw incidents...glad it wasn't needed haha
A great weekend, altho I was a bit shadey the following morning ;-)

      June 8, 2013

      Are you coming?

No, Mirina and I got really sick. :(

      June 8, 2013

  • sharon

Hi all - you might want to bring a beanie and gloves & camp chair - if anyone needs a tent or bunk you can text me on[masked] - by Friday - otherwise see you there - have access to jug for hot cuppas! - Bomb fire and barbecue will keep it cosy – slack line up and running for those keen

    1 · June 5, 2013

    • Michael

A bomb fire would be bad for all of our health. I was wondering if there was electricity for boiling an electric jug? Not an issue now given someone is bringing a traditional kettle.

Chris down below asked if there is room and accessibility for his caravan - guess he is more of a glamper ;)

Stuart would also like to help cut up wood in exchange for some wood on his way to another camping location.

May have been another question but I have forgotten ;)

Hi, sounds like a great activity. I am a friend of Eddie and he suggested I join in. I have a little electic chainsaw if that would be useful, but I'd need a powerpoint within 50m.

    June 5, 2013

    • Michael

I've yet to find out if there is power there ;) I do have a mate that will bring a chainsaw though. Massacre in the making.

      June 6, 2013

    • Karen

Ha ha ha.....gets better and better, come join the Bomb fire and BBQ at Sharon's Slaughter house, 4 Graves lane.........all the more.....all the merrier:D

      June 6, 2013

  • kelly

Have been looking forward to this for weeks and now we're sick with the flu so unsure how we will pull up for sat arvo - will keep you posted

    June 6, 2013

    June 4, 2013

    • kelly

    June 4, 2013

Not in this instance - I am a fast typer ;) I thought since she made a comment she would get an email notification about comments being made about her comment ;)

Meetup has changed the way emails come through - I don't always get a separate email per RSVP yes or no, but I will get them as a set of emails throughout the day.

I'd just like to make a comment about this comment... ' that was the comment'..

Hi, this sounds like fun! I have an 8 year old daughter who would like to come too. Is anyone bringing kids?

    May 26, 2013

    • Michael

      May 27, 2013

  • sharon

If you want a get away and enjoy the bush setting then come and join this bush barbecue.

    1 · May 21, 2013

    • Michael

      Also, are kidlets allowed? ^_^

      May 22, 2013

    • Karen

Hey Michael, Sharon has a son and prefers outdoor/ kid friendly activities, so I'm gathering Sharon will be bringing Marcus along as well and would be happy for other members to do the same:) Sharon was talking about the farmhouse and posting this meetup and mentioned the farm is kid friendly:) She does tend to get pretty busy and doesn't always get the chance to actually check her emails, so I'd say the reason why she hasn't got back to the questions as yet.

      May 26, 2013

  • kelly

sounds wonderful, not many places left where you can have a bonfire like the old bonfire night ones!

    May 22, 2013

  • Michael

Hey Sharon, your profile description says you are in Hamilton, so is this really your farm house? ;)

    May 22, 2013
