Let's help the Community FoodBank of New Jersey "fill the emptiness caused by hunger with FOOD, HELP, and HOPE."
1.2 million people in New Jersey are food insecure. We can lend a helping hand!
We will work together in a 2 hour shift. During that time, we will be assigned to a specific area, such as:
• Sorting and repacking food for distribution to more than 900,000 hungry people in New Jersey
• Assembling Back Pack inserts and senior boxes.
• Helping in the Kathleen’s Closet thrift shop
• Packaging new clothes for children in our Kids Division.
• Preparing fundraising mailings
Forms to Fill Out for the Food Bank (Please send directly to the Food Bank's representative Traci Hendricks <[masked]>):
Please click on the "More" link above, and then "Files" to find the two forms that are needed to be filled out and sent back to the food bank as soon as possible. Please remember to send these directly to Traci at the food bank. Although this is listed as a group activity of our meetup, the Food Bank is accepting each of us as individuals, and you will not be registered to attend until these forms are returned to them. These forms are your agreement with the Food Bank to abide by their guidelines while volunteering and helping in their facility, which we have nothing to do with except coordinating your joining us for this fun activity at the same time as everyone else. Alternatively, you may use these links if you have trouble accessing the ones on our meetup site:

Comfortable, safe footwear is absolutely necessary. No open-toed shoes, heels, sandals or flip-flops are permitted in the warehouse. Sneakers, shoes or work boots are preferred.
The CFBNJ dress code is casual and comfortable, but appropriate for a work environment. Please do not wear any suggestive or controversial clothing, including short shorts and tank tops, long jewelry, necklaces or earrings are not allowed as they may pose a safety concern in the warehouse. Please leave all valuables such as purses, bags, jewelry, etc. locked in your car or at home. The Community FoodBank of New Jersey is not responsible for missing personal belongings.
There is ample parking around the food bank as most of the business around are closed on the weekend and the there will be Organizers who help us park.
We will meet at the main entrance 15 mins before the event. You may also bring items that can be donated at the food bank (canned/boxed food, non-perishables, toiletries, household items, toys). I will bring the items we've been collecting at some of our prior events as well.
**We can hang out after we finish. We'll decide together.
