Monthly social (Using an intervalometer)

All Spots are Full. Please Give up your spot if you will not be able to attend.

This event is a meet and greet with a short program about buying, and using an intervalometer with your camera.  Your hosts and other members may be able to show you how to use yours if you've already bought one.

Bring your intervalometer with you (if you have one) and bring that undecipherable manual, too, if you haven't already shredded it in exasperation!

Refreshments, snacks, and beverages will also be provided.

Oh and there maybe prizes but only if we are over 50.

Schedule:  Final

6:00 - 6:45 pm  Meet and greet

6:45 - 7:00 pm Upcoming Plans and Shoots - interactive discussion.

7:00 - 7:30 pm All about Intervalometers (with examples: Timelapse, long exposure, extended delay, camera modes, limitations and gotchas).

7:30 - 8:00 pm Break out and 1-1 help...... Socialize.

To their good side: they do have a kit for Pana bodies and they promised a cable for Olympus to be available in a couple of weeks. Now, I have to wait several months to upgrade my iPhone 4 as I gave up my upgrade to my wife's another iPhone accident LOL

Hey, we had a discussion about intervalometers a while back. If you haven't got one you might want to check it out. http://www.meetup.com/NightPhotography/boards/thread/26238962/0/

Very informative class, Instructors helped out with step by step instructions and
explained some problems that may arise and limitations of the devices.
Also displayed some new hi tech versions that are now entering the market

Even though I already knew how to use my intervalometer you gave me some good tips, and it was fun to get together and socialize, thanks.

I have a potential conflict for Thursday, and noticed there is a person on the waitlist, so I've decided to give up my spot just in case I can't make it. :-( Next time...

Would love to meet up with you guys, but Sunnyvale from Martinez, on a workday, is too far for me. I can't leave work that early.

Am I better off buying an intervalometer beforehand or waiting til after the presentation?

    February 10, 2013

    • Eric H.

Those are just two I recomend you might be able to pick a different brand that looks and functions the same for cheaper. But this is one item I DON'T recomend buying the Nikon or Canon brand they are WAY over priced.

      February 10, 2013

For Canon 1,5,6,7 and xxD series cameras require this remote http://www.amazon.com... I wished this had been available when I purchased the Canon version

darn, will be out of town...would really like to learn this...any chance this will repeat?

    January 27, 2013

    • Eric H.

Sorry for the delayed response. Yes I do believe this will be repeated sometime in the future.

There are intervalometer which you connect to the camera and built-in the camera (as you already know). It is probably good to cover both types.

For some people 6PM might be imperfect timing. For example: if somebody takes Caltrain from work and have to jump into a car and drive to the meeting, she would have to leave work very early.

    • Eric H.

That is why the talk starts at 7pm

      1 · January 18, 2013

We know we can't fit everybodys schedule, Sergey. If you can secure a place and give the talk at a later time/different day - let us know and we'll be glad to set up the event description for you.
