Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

Sorry, this meetup somehow got deleted this morning.   The event is still on for tonight, 7pm, Saturday June 22.

The 28 Yes RSVPs should have gotten an email from Sarita this morning (Saturday, June 22) with meeting location details.

The comments were deleted as well as the list of attendees.  We will try to add the attendees back.  If you have any questions, please see Sarita's email as it includes her cell phone number.

If you are not getting emails, check your Meetup profile to enable emails or your email Spam filter.

Thanks.

I talked with a couple people who felt bad/worried about not having expensive camera equipment and not being able to take night photos. I have felt the same way/been embarassed but have realized it is important to stay within one's budget and not compare what other people have. I have seen excellent photos with less expensive cameras. Practice with what you have and develop a good sense of composition, lighting.. enjoy the experience, and upgrade in the future.

I totally agreed with you, Sarita.

Definitely. My goal is always to shoot something that I'm happy with, regardless of what someone else thinks of it. The important thing to have is an enthusiasm for shooting, and an openness to learning (and this group is a great way to learn). Since this is a night photography group, it does help to have a tripod, but there are ways around that, even. On the boardwalk, I was setting my camera on railings and trash cans in order to do slow exposures. Whatever works! No one (except Sarita) should be embarrassed about what they have. ;-)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
