Social CAMERA gear show and tell

THIS MEETUP IS BEYOND FULL if you're not in the top 10 of the waiting list already, chances are very slim that you'll be able to attend the event.

----------------

San Jose Camera and Video will be hosting 40 of us for a chance to take a look at gear, ask questions of the store staff and other members, and to get to know one another a bit better.

Their store closing time is 8:00 PM on Thursdays and they'll be staffed as usual.

If you haven't had a chance to see and hear about gear from a local store - this is a great place to go.

SJCV stock a wide range of cameras, lenses, filters as well as tripods, backpacks, books and all manner of photography related paraphernalia.

Afterward we'll mosey down the lane to Panera for coffee pastries, and talk.

Panera closes at 9:00 PM.

Q: Can we come if we're on the wait list? Or not on the list at all?

A: No.  Unless you were planning to make a purchase.  San Jose Camera and Video asked us to limit attendance to 40 to fit their space, parking and staffing.

Q: Should I bring my camera/equipment?

A: If you're looking for something specific (e.g. a lens case for a specific lens) bring it.  This is not a "shooting" event, however.

Q: Will this happen again?

A: Unknown at this point.  I suspect SJCV will be much happier to have us back if it results in some additional profit or other benefit to them.

Q: Is there a special discount for those who attend?

A: No.  SJCV prices are quite competitive as it is.

NOTE: There is a not a lot of parking at this store... Carpooling recommended. Afterward we're going to go to Panera Bread where there is more parking. Carpooling from there is a good idea.

OK...it is just "a social"...I thought it was about how to use your camera gear for social media, like direct twitter updates and geotagging with my camera and foursquare...thanks Steven

Steven was amazing, he took a lot of time out to explain the various types of tripod systems and also the pros and cons of each. I feel more prepared to make a decision now.
