They are doing a low elevation fly over of the space shuttle piggy backed on the 747.  Make your plans accordingly.   Which may include a pass by the Golden Gate Bridge.

Details from NASA

From the Examiner

From the Sacramento Bee:

The aircraft is scheduled to leave Houston on Wednesday and to make a refueling stop at Biggs Army Airfield in El Paso. Later flyovers that day are planned in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Edwards Air Force Base in Southern California, where it will land.

On Thursday, California will get an even better look at the spacecraft. The 747 carrier with Endeavour aboard will take off from Edwards AFB and perform low-level flyovers of NASA's Ames Research Center at Moffett Field in the Bay Area and many cities, including San Francisco and Sacramento.

"The intent is to show the beautiful shuttle to as much of the state as possible," said NASA spokesman Michael Curie.

The Endeavour will fly over several state landmarks, including the Golden Gate Bridge and the state Capitol. "At 200 knots and 1,500 feet above the state Capitol, it will be a very majestic sight, something you won't forget," Curie said.

The final route in California has not been finalized and could change, depending on the weather. NASA expects to release more details on the route later this week, Curie said.

I'm at the field, still got some Rio here if you can park at light rail you can walk in. They just aren't taking any extra cars!

Been told it could be as late as 10am...

I've been following the news and it looks like the flyover in the Bay Area is delayed an hour. The plane takes off from Edwards Air Force base in So Cal at 8:15. Friends already at Moffett Field say it is packed. If you hoped to skip out of work quickly to catch this, you might want to tell them you're coming in late instead.

Cristina, It is hard to guess an exposure on just your camera data. You composition is important, the cloud cover, are you standing in a shadow, what DOF you want. What is more important with the advanced dSLRs is composition. The camera can get you a good exposure on auto but make the elements in the photo interesting let the camera handle the rest. Look at the histogram and adjust accordingly.

It is still at 9 am. Read the link to NASA for the latest. Since I don't know a lot about your camera set up, your lens, your filters, your ISO, your F stop, No I don't have any suggestions...on camera settings.
