UPDATE: Time and the Conways, a play by J.B. Priestley

4/4/14 Update- Go ahead and purchase your seats. I have added additional seating on the Orchestra level at $35. The obstruction issues have been resolved by re-staging some of the scenes. Also, the UT review just came out.

Our next meet up will be Time and the Conways by British playwright J.B. Priestley inside the Globe Theatre on Friday April 11 at 8pm.

If you like, love, or are into Downton Abbey at all - you will enjoy the show tremendously. A true classic English drama, Priestley uses the story of the Conway family to explore Time and the little choices we make along the way. Read more about the show here.

Tickets are $29 or $35 each and all service fees will be waived.

To purchase your group tickets simply click on the link or copy and paste in your browser:

Deadline to purchase tickets is April 8 @ 6pm.

If you have any issues or questions, feel free to call me directly at[masked] x 2408. I'm generally there M-F til 6pm.

I've heard great feedback about the show, so I'm excited to see it. The show is about 2 hours plus a 15 intermission. We'll head over to the Prado immediately after for a little late-night happy hour!

See you then!

I am sorry to say, but I did not see any one from the meetup! My friends and I though enjoyed the play very much. We thought the acting was good and the plot very interesting. Not enough applause at the end, I thought. They certainly would have deserved it

There is a big party happening at the SDMA that is expecting 1000+ people throughout the evening. So please, plan accordingly. I recommend two courses of action to find parking without getting mixed up in the fray:

    1) Assume the lots in the park are going to be full and park on the southside of Park Av & President's Way by the Veteran's Memorial Museum (next to the old hospital). There is a TRAM scheduled to run until after the show tonight. It will pick you up on the backside of the museum and take you and drop you in front of the Prado Restaurant.

    2) Park on the Street.

Park on 6th Ave and walk across the Laurel St/Cabrillo Bridge. While the Bridge is still closed to vehicular traffic - you can walk across! OR park on Park Blvd by the Reuben H Fleet. OR park at the Zoo and trek down Old Globe Way.

Here's the link the Balboa Park web site which will have a map and other info in case you are not familiar with these areas.

As per my experience, if you have a chance, go to the box office. Once there you'll see that they have more open seats that they show on line.

Hi Luisa! Great! Missed that. As you said, you can always buy tickets for any date online or at the box office - but if folks want to sit together, I hold specific seats just for the group. You also don't pay the per-ticket service fees if you use the link I send you. See you on Friday!

If there are available seats, I can't see any except on the far sides. I think they are 15-18 with a partial view. All others are occupied. That is what I have seen every time I have checked. I cleared my cache too.

Looks like a few more seats opened up further back from the front rows so I'll be going after all. Thanks Karen.

Looks like the only Area B front is still left and not much choice in seating, even outside of the meetup group. I'll catch the show another day.

    March 29, 2014

    • Karen A.

The seats available in Area B front couple of rows are all we have right now. Once we fill what we have, I will see about opening up more. So, check back with me if you are still able to come.

Looks like there are no good seats remaining. I'll try for the next time.

Hi Pat - There are still plenty of seats left for our group. Row B 11 & 13 are still open.

      April 1, 2014

  • Karen A.

Hi rb, I will open up some more seats on Monday. Fran- once you click on the link click on the orchestra level seats and it will show you what's available for our group. When you mouse over it should reveal the cost for that particular seat.

    1 · March 29, 2014

  • Fran T.

Being new to the group not sure how the ticket procedure works. Since there are two prices with two separate groups when do we get to select the ticket we want and when do we pay for it? Thank you. Fran

    March 29, 2014

  • Karen A.

The way the seating is structured and based on current availability, I was forced to break our group up into 2 pricing sections. $29 seats will be closer to the stage. $35 seats will be a little further back - in the middle of the seating. So we'll be broken into 2 smaller groups.

Since there are 2 ticket prices- we won't be seated together as a group?
