Volunteers Beyond Belief

Hi, Dave (and All) - -

Thank you for finding and suggesting this.  As you know, I'm interested in polishing our collective reputation, meeting Good People, helping the world, etc., through things like this.

However, I'm still burned out from the Dan Barker Weekend (and too many other projects the past year or two) and have sworn off New Projects for at least the rest of this year.  I can't be In Charge of anything else, nor even help organize, but might show up at some of the "work" sessions.

I see they operate in 14 cities, the nearest being York, PA.  I assume VBB can help us find volunteer opportunities in or very near State College, right?  For me, driving to York several times a year would be a deal breaker.  Or would we have to create our own opportunities?

What would it mean to mean to miss Monday's deadline?  Would we have to wait a whole year to get involved?  I worry about committing until several of us are on board ... it might be worthwhile to wait a while and get more buy-in before signing up.

What do others think?  - - Chuck

If you have any thoughts on this, or would just be willing to
volunteer occasionally, please reply to me or to the group over the next few days. ...
