Hi - -

Some "business" for tomorrow's meeting at Panera's . . .  As many of you know, Brian Fields (PAN President) and several others from down-state generously supported (money and attendance) our Dan Barker Weekend here in April.  Do we want to return the favor?  Please see Brian's e-note below.

Also, do we want to become an Official PAN Member?

        Let's discuss. - - Chuck

Subject: [PAN-Announce] PA State Conference/Convention

Hello all,

Just a quick update on what we've been up to lately.  This fall, we are
attempting to put together a mini-convention in the Harrisburg area.  We
are still in the planning phases, but currently we have at least Dan
Barker, Dave Silverman, and Justin Vacula on board to speak.  We are
working on several other potential speakers, including Herb Silverman,
Mike Newdow, and a many others that I'm not ready to name yet.  We are
planning this for the last weekend of September (Sept 28-Oct 1).

Here's what we need from you.  Who is interested in attending?  Can
anyone help us directly fund this effort?  Aside from paying for a venue
(which can be quite pricey), we also would like to be able to give our
speakers at least small honorariums.  What would you be willing to pay
for tickets?  Feedback from you, the membership, will help us make our
planning decisions and turn this into a successful event.  We also
intend to make this a public event - And invite groups from all over the
state to attend.

Scott Rhoades from the Lancaster Freethought Society has also pledged to
help us turn this into a statewide convention, so I'm hoping to get a
good turnout, and possibly more speakers as well.  I will also share
more information as our plans become more solid.
