Event Etiquitte

One major item that needs to be addressed is the attendance. Everyone has been doing awesome of changing their RSVPs if needed before the event has been confirmed with the tea room and such. One thing that I want to point out is that once a tea room has been called and confirmed the event will be closed to all NEW RSVPs. With this being said, if there was a limit of 12 people to start for an event but when the event is closed with less than 12 people, that is ok. Even though there may be looking like there is extra spots, once the event has been closed to an event this means that the tea house knows that for example to have spots only for ten people rather than 12. If you are wanting to go to the event but were unable to make your RSVP before the event has closed, please email myself, Judi, or Vickie. We will then call the tea house to add you to the list. If though this arrangements are not made, please do not show up unannounced. This at times may make our tea group look unorganized as we have told the tea house one number but extra people have shown up.

If in the event comments or description there is a note about having payment or confirmed seats 2-3 weeks before the event, this is very important as well. Some special events sell out quite quickly or have a rule that everything must be paid for or confirmed several weeks in advance. An example of this would be the Victorian Candle Light Dinner that was on December 4th. Notes were mentioned that the event had been sold out in October. If you were interested in going to this event, one would have had to call on their own and ask to be placed on the events waiting list if the event was sold out. Luckily this event had a couple last minute cancellations, and people were able to go. If a person is added to the "go list" then they must let the event organizer know so that they know who to expect at the event with out any added surprises.

Also with all house parties, if there is a set limit, this is due to either space issues in one's home or a limited number of place settings. For example, with this weekend's tea coming up. The reason why there is a cap of 12 people is because Judi has a place setting for only 12 people. This is why it is important to update your RSVP a couple days before hand, if you are unable attend then one of the five people on the wait list would be able to attend.

I love the friendships that we have created over the past year and look forward to stronger relationships forming and new ones created over this next year. If you have recently joined the group, we would love to meet you soon. If there is an event that you would like to attend but it is full, please join the wait list as at times the wait listed people will be moved up to the "go" list. Some events start out small to see if there is an interest and then opened up to a larger number before the event occurs.
