.vimrc show and tell

I think a great topic for our first meetup would be vim configuration, and which shortcuts, settings and commands we can't live without. Someone also suggested it might be fun to play some vim golf.

The meetup time and location have now been finalized.

Please comment here if you'd be willing to discuss your .vimrc for 5-15 min at this meeting. We may have a few people discuss their dotfiles at every meetup. As the date nears, I'll fill in the meeting schedule with a schedule of who's presenting at what times.

Sorry we ran out of time before getting to you tonight. If you can make it to the next meetup, you can go first and discuss your .vimrc (plus any plugins you want to)

Great first meetup, guys. I forgot the exact count, but I want to say there were about 12 people there. I'll do a post-meetup writeup soon and send it out. Still deciding if I want that to to live on meetup.com, in an email message, or on github.

I think it was a great mix of group discussion and presentations. Very laid back and informal, but with lots of good information.

That's quite alright, there will be plenty more meetups in the future. In the meantime, I'll try to get some mailing list activity going as well.

The earliest I can get there is 5:45p. Thanks for asking, but I'll take a cab-- that'll simplify things.
