Retired radio journalist, amateur photographer since college. My forte is color travel shots, but I'm gaining appreciation for B&W with its ability to capture a subject's essence without chromatic distractions. I embrace digital, glad to forget film.
Not often enough. I usually shoot only when traveling the globe, but am seeking a stimulus to get me out more often locally.
Canon 50D with 3 Canon zooms: 28-135mm, 70-300mm, & 10-22mm.
A terrific new group with whom to explore and shoot!
Thanks David for a fun night, I have a friend that used to be with National Geographic as an editor of Southeast Asia, and has plenty of good stories of Japan. He was also prior US Navy as a young man and then went to college afterwards. I coached his son in soccer and now his son is with the Merchant Marine Academy to be a US Naval Officer when he graduates.
Your experiences and interests are fascinating. You're a terrific conversationalist and you'd beat me with trivia, I'm sure. Looking forward to seeing you at another event! Or if you're cooking... earlier... :)
Lynne (and Stan)- We sat across from you at the table.
That is a really nice photo of you! :)
Welcome to our group David
Join us tomorrow, at Sully's! and I think I know your name (I work for PAHO/WHO Media-Press!!! LOL, Sonia
Glad to have you in the Group!
Very nice to meet you last evening! Voice of America was my
lifesaver while living in Africa, India, and Thailand. I hope that we can talk again soon. Best wishes, Charlotte
