We are the Alexandria Drummers! The purpose of this group is to promote health and wellness, community, creativity, and fun through music. If you are looking to have a great time and meet great people this meetup is for you. Our sessions are usually two hours with each session consisting of a warm-up,  the  drum lesson, a jam session followed by a healthy eating social.

Come out and join us for a night of fun, community, and self expression. Music is a “universal language” that has been used for thousands of years as an avenue to healing. Research shows that music can be helpful in pain management, stress relief, mood improvement, and even brain stimulation and memory.

Drums have been used for centuries as a festive and ceremonial communication tool, and are considered the ‘instrument of the people”.  All of life has an underlying rythmn that connects us to one another. Recalling the natural rythmns of our body, namely the beating heart. Drum circles help us connect with deeper rythmns and thus can help bring about optimal wellness.

Drum circles are a fun inclusive event in which participants make music together and share in a joy filled experience. The “feel good” chemicals that are released during such an experience can have an positive effect on your health. Participants may experience benefits similar to those of practicing yoga, aerobics, or meditation.
