Node.JS OC Main Mtg 2014.03: Filling in the Gaps

Filling in the gaps: A Node.js discussion about something other than express.js

It seems like most Node.js intros/tutorials are some variant of building a RESTful app server with express.js. While this is a great way to get up and running quickly, it fails to address the core principles, patterns, and pitfalls of production Node.js development. This discussion is meant to eliminate "deep magic" and fill in gaps for Node.js developers at all levels of experience.

Topics include:
- Async, non-blocking I/O, and other buzzwords
- Node in Production (automation, deploying, scaling, and calls)
- Isomorphic Javascript

Our presenter Mark is a full stack developer and engineer (formerly of SpeakUp, Blizzard, and Quest Software). He’s has been using Node.js in production since 2012.

Food & Drinks: "quality pizza (as 3-topping Round Table pizza) + soda for attendees wanting it";  snacks may also be provided by Drumbi.

Does anyone know devs with hearing problems or strong accents (where people often have to ask you to repeat?) Please hit me up. I have a solution to both.
