Atom.io Package Management

Atom.io takes a very "Node" approach to editors. Small core with packages for added functionality. Kevin Sawicki from GitHub joins us remotely to provide a brief overview of Atom.io and then a deeper dive into its package management system and how it works. Kevin is the author of the Atom.io package Command-Logger, which provides a heat map of your Atom activity.

Checkout the Atom editor at atom.io and Kevin's packages at atom.io/users/kevinsawicki.

I really enjoyed the presentation, and while I didn't partake the pizza and beer were an awesome addition.

Pizza was great. Need to find out where it was from, since I live close by.

It was Monical's off 86th. I'm glad the leftovers didn't go to waste!

Someone mentioned webRTC during the meeting: podcast worth checking out http://hanselminutes.com/418/learn-webrtc-with-lisa-larson-kelley

Love me some PM2. We can probably do a short 15min overview for those who are unaware. Its simplicity reminds me of command line git.
    pm2 start myapp.js
    pm2 list
    pm2 logs
    etc

I like how it will automatically use all of the cores if you add the "-i max" flag. Plus auto restarts and health checks.

Sorry there's no video. Google Hangout made it more a complicated process than the last time I did it and there just wasn't time to get it setup.

We're going try Google Hangout's record-to-youtube feature. If we get it working I'll post the link. Should also stream live.

Would love to come, but I've got to help my wife get ready for the Stutz Art Open House this Friday and Saturday.
