As a test to see how well node unit tests, I made this: https://github.com/bingomanatee/... using the basic assert library in node and a vary basic wrapper. It seems to work okay. (no dots yet ... )

Thank you very much to all of the people who helped organize and run this event. I had a great time getting acquainted with node.js, TDD/BDD, and all of the other great items presented last night. I look forward to the next meetup!

Special thanks to EngineYard team for my $1K prize. If we can add, our company, Stanzr.com, is a small startup in SOMA and we're pushing the edge of node.js/socketio/nowjs/mongodb. Hopefully, we'll be working with Angular to do some more crazy stuff. Please ping if seeking to join a new mothership!

Awesome meet up. Great to be around so many other people excited about node. If anyone is looking for a small startup to join with a strong focus on node/socketio/redis checkout SEscout.com

I didn't get a chance to do my lightning talk, but I did talk about my common-node project to some of you. Here's a link for anyone interested: http://olegp.github.com/common-...

Misko's presentation was stellar, both in intention and execution. Ben's was also informative and brief.

Lots of fun, lots of smart people and great conversation (both on and off the panel).

Plus, free shirts and prizes, can't argue with that!

Oh and check out angular.js. Had me smiling all night.

Thanks to all the speakers and audience contributors. I will post a few links from some topics that came up. One important theme from last night is that there is still some ways to go for non-early adopters and self-proclaimed non-devs to make node easy to get into and easy to deploy. I'll be tracking progress on this issue and see where we are at a year from now.

Great program put together by ben@carbonfive and a most interesting round table. Some very insightful questions from the audience.

Great speakers and sponsors. Topics and presentations were excellent, especially the panel discussion and presentation on Angular.

Excellent group, passionate individuals (got a sweet free shirt :) Would like to know more about zombie, perhaps a follow up talk with some more complex examples. The Angular stuff was more in depth TDD but was specific to Angular so wasn't of much value at present.

Well-organized, well-attended. Great topic also. I enjoyed the informal panel at the end of the Meetup, let's keep those going!

Folks, thanks for all of the interest in tomorrow night's Node.js Meetup. Please double check your calendar, and if you are 50/50 on showing up, please practice some non-SF courtesy and change your RSVP status to 'No' to make a spot open for someone who is hungry for the program we have in store tomorrow. I look forward to seeing you all who can make it. -D

@Oleg, there should be some time at the end of the scheduled presentations. Please come find me at the event so that I can signal you if there is time for a lightning round.

    September 12, 2011

  • Travis Y.

I'll leave that up to the other organizers, but I also have no problem keeping the event open for awhile after 9:30 if needed.

    +1 for Oleg demoing common-node.

    September 12, 2011

Would it be possible to set aside some time for lightning talks? I would like a minute or two to introduce my common-node package.

Make sure to sweep out the old PHP coders. They tend to clump up in the corners.

    September 12, 2011

  • Travis Y.

Yes, take a look at the changes to the event above. We'll be hosting this at CBSi.

  • Truedat

Hi, any volunteers to run video at the event? I don't have the time generally with these events when I host by myself to make a reasonable webcast or video, and occasionally one of the sponsor/hosts will put in the effort. Contact me or send me a message @dkords.

In addition to streaming, please record the video.

Posted another message to you guys but haven't heard back. Let me know if you don't get it. Bottom line is, if you need the room & equip, it's yours.

Hey, I just sent a message to you and Ben through the "Contact Us" form above. I've provided a few other details and my direct contact info so we can take this offline.

Hi @travyo , that's a very enticing offer. Can you guys also provide streaming and A/V video? I'll double check with the current sponsor to see what makes most sense.

    September 6, 2011

  • Travis Y.

My team and I can host this (or future events) in our 125 capacity room at CBS Interactive up the street if it's not already in use that night. I can verify tomorrow.

  • Truedat

Working on streaming options. Anyone willing to sponsor the stream through one of the higher end streaming options? Currently we've got low end free options, but would like to step this up a notch.

Thanks co-host @Ben L and sponsors Carbon Five for pulling this event together. Great lineup. As always, we'll serve some grub + drinks, sponsored by Carbon Five and Razortooth Communications.

We may have enough speakers lined up. But feel free to reach out if you have a topic proposal or are/have something totally awesome.

    August 18, 2011

  • Truedat

Folks, registration is open. We've got two confirmed speakers, to be revealed when I have topics nailed down. Working on some more TDD speakers, so stay tuned.

  • Truedat

I'll open up registration next week, as soon as we nail down a few more details. Thanks to Ben @ Carbon Five for stepping up to offer the sponsorship of space + drinks.
