Celebrate and Weave: Consciousness Cafe

Two things in this notice. First the announcement for the Consciousness Café on Tuesday, 2/11. Second - coming previews for the: Awakening into the Sun two-day workshop at First Unity Church (3/1 and 3/2), the Hillsborough Community College (HCC) Beyond Sustainability Conference on 2/28 and 3/1, and finally, a "save the date" notice for the first annual Evolving Tampa Bay Celebration to take place in St. Pete on April 6th. (SCIONS is on the planning committee for the event!) You are warmly invited to attend the monthly Consciousness Café hosted by Suncoast Community Institute of Noetic Sciences and Sacred Lands!!

Potluck dinner from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Please contribute if you are able.

7:30 (or close to it!) we start the program with a centering/grounding experience followed by guidelines of the Café format. Time permitting we will have three rounds of Café followed by the harvest. We'll try to save the last 15 minutes for announcements/sharing and then close with toning (three Om's or something similar). We will be done (I pray!) by 9:00.

A $5.00 - $10.00 love offering is requested, to be split between Sacred Lands and SCIONS.

It is requested that you please bring toiletries, toilet paper or diapers if you are able to be distributed to our local sisters and brothers who are homeless and in need.

As a recap of "consciousness café" - we come together to share that which inspires and informs us as we learn to live centered in our connections and oneness. This could be a book, a poem, or a piece of artwork on the subject of the shift of consciousness ("The Great Turning"; "Birth2012"; Synchronicity; Mayan/Hopi/Indigenous Wisdom; the living Earth - Pachamama/Gaia; Integral/Evolutionary worldview consciousness; Love; Spirit etc.)

By the way, April Café will (I hope - haven't talked with Erik or Doris about this yet!) be conducted on the 3rd Tuesday as Krishna Das will be playing in Sarasota on the 2nd Tuesday.

March café on 3/11.

Ok, announcements! (I can't help but wonder how many people have read on this far! I know the complexity and abundance of information to sift through! The internet is wonderful, and a can be a bit of a burden! (Especially if I carry on here!) Anyway, thank you. From the heart, thank you. I know these first two events overlap. We are so blessed to have so many great choices locally!!!! Saturday 3/1 and Sunday 3/2: Awakening into the Sun taking place at First Unity Church (where we - SCIONS - meet quarterly). The event is advertised as a Health, Wellness, and Arts Fair and Market. National speakers will be present such as Rev. Julie Moret, Ph.D. from the AGAPE International Spiritual Center in California. If you're familiar with Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith, the founder of AGAPE, you will understand the significance of having her local. No admission to the event and free parking. check out http://www.firstunity.org/index.php/component/ohanah/qawakening-into-the-sunq-an-arts-crafts-a-wellness-affair?Itemid=132 for more information on the event. (Copy and paste into your browser.) (I think that's what a techie would say!) Friday 3/28 - Saturday 4/1: Beyond Sustainability Conference put on by The Institute of FL Studies and the HCC Sustainability Council. Copied from their website, below (shhhh - please don't tell on me!): BEYOND SUSTAINABILITY CONFERENCE CONTINUES TO MOVE IDEAS INTO ACTION AND OFFERS OPPORTUNITIES TO ENGAGE IN MEANINGFUL DIALOGUE WITH INTENDED OUTCOMES TO CULTIVATE POTENTIAL COLLABORATIONS. AS WE DIVE DEEPER INTO CONVERSATIONS ABOUT THE TRIPLE E (EDUCATION, ECOSYSTEMS AND ECONOMICS) BOTTOM LINE OF SUSTAINABILITY, THE GOAL OF THIS YEAR’S CONFERENCE IS TO SHINE LIGHT ON CREATING NEXUSES AMONG SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURS, INVESTORS, EDUCATORS, GOVERNMENT, REGULATORY AGENCIES, BUSINESSES, AND COMMUNITY. Check out their website, below. http://www.hccfl.edu/departments/sustainability/conference.aspx

Finally, (no more "marketing" right now, I promise you!) please save the date, Sunday 4/6, for an emerging event. As noted above, SCIONS is on the planning committee for the event, which is "emerging from the field." Evolving Tampa Bay: A Model of Co-Creative Community. This will be an experience of learning, interacting with like-minded/hearted beings, and celebrating our accomplishments. More to follow!!!!! Thanks for sticking with me!!! Beaming lots of Love and Light! Namaste. In Lak'ech. Peace. Douglas

Hi All! I'm in Atlanta as I write this.... had hoped to get back in time for the café tomorrow night. However, north Georgia is now shutting down with a winter storm warning! I'll see ya if I see ya! If not, then you all have fun for me, and I'll see you next time.
