Love reading? Love chatting? Love snacking? Just want to hang out with the cool kids? Come check out the Reading Cafe.
This month we'll be reading Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed. The book is available at the public library (in the following formats: book, audio book, ebook, and audio ebook). It is also available on Amazon (from $1.29 and up, Kindle version is $4.99).
Wild: from Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail is a "a powerful, blazingly honest memoir: the story of an eleven-hundred-mile solo hike that broke down a young woman reeling from catastrophe—and built her back up again." (from Goodreads)
We can pick a venue once we have a better idea of how many are coming. We could get together at someone's house or we can check out a local cafe or something. Post in the comments if you have any ideas or suggestions for venue. A place with either a private room or a relatively quiet cafe would be ideal. (Probably not restaurants.)
At the March meeting, we discussed how we are going to run each club meeting. We decided that it would be best for each person to bring one or more questions or topics they would like to discuss. This gives everyone a chance to contribute to the conversation. If you are unable to finish the book before the meeting, feel free to come and chat about the parts that you were able to read. (Unless, of course, you don't want any spoilers. :) )
As for upcoming books, we will decide on the next book at the April 27th meeting. There is a Goodreads group for this meetup. If you have any suggestions for books, please place them on our Goodreads group bookshelf. You can find the group by clicking here. If you aren't a member of Goodreads and do not want to join, just post any suggestions in the comments section.
We're looking forward to seeing everyone in April!
