What did you/are you studying in college?

I have a Ph.D. in philosophy (concentration medical ethics) and a law degree. Jurisprudence, ethics, and understanding cultural differences are my passions.

What are your favorite non-fiction books you have read?

Product Details The Least Dangerous Branch: The Supreme Court at the Bar of Politics by Alexander M. Bickel (Sep 10, 1986) was a real eye opener for me.

What kind of books would you be interested in having the group read together?

Anything I haven't already read :)

What area of DC/ time of the week would you most likely be available to attend a discussion?

I prefer during the work day, but will do my best to make meetings scheduled at other times.

Tell us a little more about yourself.

I'm open-minded, like to play devil's advocate, and love to be challenged.

Introduction

I run a small non-profit that works to develop tools to empower patients to make informed healthcare decisions. I'm about to become an empty-nester and am looking for activities where I can interact with other smart and motivated people.

What Sigrid F. is saying about this Meetup Group

Every time I come I enjoy the discussion immensely. It is hard for me to make it into town sometimes, but I'm definitely going to make more of an effort to make it happen whenever I can.
