What is your interest in nonviolence?

I've been intrigued to learn that systematic nonviolent (NV) processes led to more peaceful resolution in Egypt, Sri Lanka, Philippines, South Sudan & the former Yugoslavia. I see NV as a tool that offers hope during a period of rapid global change.

What types of events would you like?

Getting to know one another. Hearing what motivates your interest in NV. Sharing ideas, learning about positive alternatives for public policy. Questioning and expanding my paradigms by examining my systems thinking.

What other interests do you have?

I stumbled across Nonviolent Communication (aka NVC or Compassionate Communication.) Not only did I find it useful to enhance my social intelligence, but I now see it shares "best practices" with organizational development and leadership disciplines.

How can we host effective conversations and dialogue with political perspectives differing from our personal bias? Or, having arrived at a personal stance of political clarity, how can we nonviolently engage those w/ differing perspectives to change?

I value World Cafe, Appreciative Inquiry, Open Space/unconference, empathy, mindfulness, interest-based negotiation, collaborative workplaces. Research interests include human capital, Getting to Yes, the practice of non-attachment, the neurobiology of compassion, the Somatically Empowered Organization and the Peace Alliance.

Anything else?

Evidence-based conversations that go beyond rhetoric & ground understanding of the world in measurable observations. Clarity on our hopes & fears and collectively voicing our greatest vision for a world of connection, enjoyment, prosperity and peace.
