Do you envision yourself coaching writers, rather than simply editing their output? We’re kicking off 2014 with a guest speaker, Kate Asche, who will introduce us to a career niche you may want to consider: Writing Coach. A writing coach supports writers as they transform their personal writing practices, set and progress toward exciting project goals, or increase their skills for drafting stronger work on their own.
Kate Asche, M.A., is a writer, teacher, and literary community builder. A trained facilitator in the Amherst Writers and Artists (AWA) Method, she has taught creative writing in a variety of academic and community settings. She teaches workshops in Sacramento and provides manuscript coaching to writing groups and individuals. Learn more about Kate at www.kateasche.com.
We’ll begin with light refreshment and brief introductions. Kate will discuss different forms coaching can take, how she developed her niche as a writing coach, and how that service complements her other professional offerings. There will be time for questions and answers and informal networking after Kate’s talk. Admission is $5 for EFA members and $10 for nonmembers. Cash will be accepted at the door.
