The Da-Da-Da-Da-Dangers in Writing Writing can be fun but there are many dangers involved in writing.

Dendy will discuss these dangers such as deadlines that lead to disasters that can lead to disappointment, and he will share some of his own real life experiences. The award winning author will also talk about the purpose of writing and compel you to find your purpose for writing as well as your own unique style.

W. Mark Dendy Author and Screenplay Writer Owner of Coffee Cup Press and Juice Box Books Winner of the 2010 Paris Festival Best Biography Award for his memoir, The Cascade Effect.

Award-winning author W. Mark Dendy inherited his father's love and ability for telling a good story. Dendy was born and raised in the Mississippi delta where storytelling abounds like fish frys and coon hunts. His narratives bring both tears and laughter to the reader, and his descriptive telling ability transports the reader into the story. His passion for writing is evident in his writing where he brings scenes to life and fills them with colorful characters. His creativity is fueled by quad, grande, extra hot, non-fat, no whip, white mochas.

Dendy loves the warm, sunny weather of San Jose del Cabo and is an avid scuba diver. When he's not spending time with his wife on a sunny, sandy beach or cruising in his boat, he enjoys reading and spoiling his three Chihuahuas and two cats. His home is in Elk Grove, California where he spends many hours writing.

I did google W. Mark Dendy and I discover this video: A Day in the Life of an ADD Writer. An absolute pleasure to watch: http://vimeo.com/32724753

This was my first meetup with Writers and I thought it was great. I was hoping for a little more discussion amongst the group members and a chance to know my company around the table, but the size of the group and length of the lecture didn't really lend itself to an opportunity for discussion on individual projects. I'm not sure if this is the structure of all the monthly meetup, but regardless, I look for to attending another.

Members, my apologies for the lock-outs and the overflow, which isn't a bad thing, but it shows two things that I've already done. We need to move the group to a bigger, better location, which I have already done. Next month we will begin meeting at the new location in Gold River and see how that goes. We can always return to Mass Mutual, but we have outgrown out facilities.

I really learned a lot. I enjoyed the information from the group and enjoyed Michelle's expertise and wisdom. Luckily I am stubborn and waited until someone came to the lobby and knocked.

It was my first meeting and I loved the group of writers and the way they shared their ideas and experiences with everybody. I love the way Michelle leads this group, and I'm looking forward to the next meetings. One small suggestion based on last evening's speaker: speakers need to stay more focused and on track on their topic rather than talk so much about themselves. I think a two-minute presentation about a person's merits and accomplishments is more than enough, since they are there to share and provide valuable information. Keep up the good work and thank you for eerything you do!

Last night's gathering was far more than I expected and I am looking forward to next month's meeting.Perhaps the new meeting facility will accomodate more easily to the abundant attendance of this creative and professional group. Luckily, I arrived early enough to get a nice comfy seat at the conference table. The variety of writers and projects were inspiring and encouraging. I look forward to attending my second meeting to hear and see the progress.

I was really impressed with the attendance and the program at the meeting last night. The quality of attendees and the speaker were exceptional and I gleaned a lot of valuable information for my first meeting. This is a professional group and inspiring for a novice. I look forward to attending and learning at future meetings. Thanks to Michelle and W. Mark Dendy for an informative evening.

Michelle always has interesting topics and great guest speakers. This one was no different. I feel badly that some people couldn't get in the building as it was locked by 7:30 by a night employee who obviously didn't know our group was meeting. Don't get discouraged; the next meeting will be in a new location. Stay tuned for updates.

As a first time visitor, I was curious. I should have known that "writers Who Mean Business" is about business, Here are the reasons I like the meeting. (1) The speaker V. Mark Dendy spoke about his wife who is much younger and he met her via AOL 18 years ago, the pedicurist visit where he enjoys other women customers asking him about his books. About naughty things one does AND THE DILEMMA of what to reveal and what to hide as fiction. About his chihuahua dogs and about the movie Midnight in Paris, of Woody Allen. He is both a writer and a publisher. But he definitely more of a writer than anything else. (2) I also liked Bill Walker a publisher and social media coach. Someone who dares to write this title on a business card can only be a very nice, optimistic chap. He sat next to me on an awkwardly uncomfortable cabinet. And (3) I like the people in the room, who although strangers - made me feel more at home than the typical face I watch shopping in Whole Foods.

It's 8:15 pm now. I just got back from trying to go to the meeting. I couldn't get in any of the doors. It appeared to be an office building. I still don't know the area and got lost after a closed road or two. I'm so disappointed. I had been looking forward to meeting members and getting my feet wet. I suppose I'll have to wait 'til next month.

I really wanted to go but all my babysitters (including my husband) are either going out of town or working! I will plan for next month! Meanwhile, I am writing away...
