Norcal Self Defense is a group open to all who wish to share, learn and practice simple, realistic, practical techniques and mind set for the purpose of self defense and personal safety. Anyone who wishes to join us is welcome. All ages and levels of fitness can participate. No prior martial arts training is needed. All of us have the right to feel safe and to avoid harm from anyone who seeks to control or injure us. Anyone who would like to join us to practice and share is most welcome. I began practicing martial arts in 1966. On my journey, I have sought to learn and use the most simple, realistic, effective techniques and mind set. My real interest has always been in combat and self defense. Sparring and competition are great, but in an life or death situation, preserving life and minimizing injury require a different skill set and state of mind. If you have been assaulted, or have been in a physical confrontation - and there is a one in three chance that you have - or wish to join a group of people who seek to share knowledge, and practice personal safety mind set and techniques, please join us - all are welcome! Learning self defense doesn't have to be a fearful or physically intense experience. If we don't learn and practice to be mindful and relaxed in our training, we won't be effective in being safe and prevailing in a real confrontation or assault. Sharing and practicing in a safe, enjoyable environment, with like minded people, is a great way to develop the proper safety and self defense mindset.
