This is a group for people interested in learning correct Nordic Walking technique and experiencing the incredible benefits it has for health & fitness and, best of all, making walking easier and more fun as we enjoy the great outdoors.
As nordic walking is still new in Geelong we like to get together to encourage one another so we don't feel so strange walking with poles!
Nordic Walking Geelong is open to everyone:
people who want to increase their level of fitness - nordic walking gives you up to 25% more cardio benefit & burns up to 40% more calories than normal walking!
people with physical limitations who want to use nordic walking to regain mobilty and a more active lifestyle - nordic walking for health.
We regularly have a "come and try nordic walking" meetup to introduce people to basic nordic walking technique.
We also run a five week nordic walking course to provide the skills you need to nordic walk comfortably and safely and gain the most benefit.
Each week there are social walks in the Geelong area which are open to people who have done a nordic walking course, either with Nordic Walking Geelong, or with another accredited nordic walking instructor.
Every three months we have half day "adventure walks" and we'd love to hear your ideas for locations. To join in with Nordic Walking events and walks (except a Free Come & Try session) you need to complete a waiver form. You only need to fill in this form once.
