Hello to all esteemed members of NIGD! I hope you are all keeping well, and are looking forward to our next meet up? Could I have suggestions of dates in May when would be a good day to arrange one from people? Shall we have a more formal event with a workshop? I'd quite like a 'discussion' on how we can put forward our gamedev issues to the local council (now the festivals over). End of May is better for me personally, But I am no dictator - please comment and suggest days and themes below! :)

I'm on holiday the middle of May, so the end is better for me too.

      19/20th?

Workshop would work, but choosing one that appeals to a majority might be tough. Is there a poll feature on this site?

Curious what issues there are though that the council should be aware of, more grants being available would be nice aha!

Hi All - just wanted to introduce myself as a local artist and designer should any developers need help with art direction and concept development. I have some work on show at the Forum gaming festival and a work in progress showreel on my site if anyone wants to look:

I really liked your art work that was on display during the week, had a nice Child of Eden vibe to it.

I'm working on a talk/tutorial about how to hack games, if it's ready and I'm feeling brave perhaps I could give a seminar/workshop if you need some numbers.

Sounds great! The agenda is filling up fast - we have a whole lot of stuff to announce real soon - but with 10 days to fill we can always squeeze in more, so we'd love you to do this as an evening session one night. Your session on how to clone a game and not be bastard was great! ;) We'll be s

We'll be s? Damn premature submit button. Anyway, we''' be finalising the agenda in a week, after which programmes and promotional material will be printed etc., so keep working on it and let me know by then if it's a yay or a nay

Oh my, this is incredible. Will we be able to get a stand in a similar way to the Expo last year? If not we'll still turn up as this sounds amazing.

Haha, I'm too excited! More specifically, this will be such an amazing opportunity for the industry in Norwich and Norfolk. I would love to support this event or even contribute in some way. By the wording in you email, it seems that there's a pretty clean slate for events. How much of it has been 'scheduled' so far?

      1 · January 19, 2014

The only concrete scheduled feature so far is that the Fusion gallery is going to be used throughout the duration to host the "retro arcade". The PS4 and XBOne pods might be in there, or they might be in the main atrium. There will be an area reserved in the atrium for game jammers: we'll probably have a "launch" event and a "finish" event, together with prizegiving, but the area will be available throughout the whole period for people to use. We can host morning, afternoon, and evening events every day in the Curve auditorium - that's 30 sessions, and so far we've only got about 5 pencilled in. So, yes, there's still very much a clean slate, and we'd love to hear your suggestions for anything you'd be interested in helping put on to fill the gaps ;)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
