Come enjoy Lake Berryessa from a unique perspective on a ranger-led paddling tour. Each tour offers a different experience as we launch from various areas around the lake.
Our final "spring" paddle will be out of Putah Canyon Recreation Area, where the friendly folks there are waiving the launch fee for us! We will be launching from the western launch ramp (not the main one) and exploring Putah Creek after dark. The full moon will light our excursion as we talk about animals' adaptations to navigating in the dark.
Normally we aren't too picky about when we launch, however, this time I'm asking - Butts in Boats at 8pm! As in, get there with enough time to be properly set up so we can leave promptly at 8. EVERY boat is required to carry a working flashlight AND a whistle (and of course PFDs!).
Bonus? For those of you who have always asked about camping, Putah Canyon is a campground! Call to make reservations -[masked]-9051.
The fine print: High winds could cause an event to be cancelled. Paddling outings are open to experienced swimmers with a kayak, canoe or other non-motorized boat. Coast Guard-approved life jackets will be available, but boats will not be available for rent. Participants should bring their boat, life jacket, paddle, flashlight, whistle, water, clothing layers depending on the weather and a snack. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. For details and directions, please contact Park Ranger Victoria Payan at[masked] ext. 113 or [masked].
Unfortunately, RSVPing on this site isn't enough to secure a spot. Please send me a quick email at [masked] in order to RSVP. Thank you!
