I am enthusiastic about photography and love exploring Sonoma County. I am still learning everything but with every workshop I attend I learn more. My favorite photographic subjects are nature and young children at play.
Learn more about the technology of photography, especially about exposure and lighting.

Hello Gale, it is possible. www.internationalliving.com
There are many people that had/have the same thoughts and visions as you do. Your schedule as a teacher allows you to live multiple lives as a traveler allowing you to do writing, living abroad in short spurts and photography without testing the depth of water with both feet. I have friends that are currently doing it as teachers and up and coming retiring teacher (5 to 7 years) friends planning on doing the same thing.
Go For It!
Welcome Gale !!
He grew up here and if I can get him to come, I will. I'm hoping he brings his camera w/ him.
Assuming my son (arriving Tues from Thailand, where he's a missionary) will let me go, I'll be there. Certainly hoping to, as I've been looking forward to it, since it's a really different shooting situation (I love a chanllenge.)
In response to your question, try shop windows at night. Take your tripod (and maybe a remote shutter release - if you don't have one use the timer setting on your camera). 1st shoot something on AV and then depending on what you see switch to Manual mode & make settings adjustments based on those from the AV mode. F stop for depth of field, and more/less light, Shutter for more/less light, and speed - depending on the shot. See photo pg of my profile for examples. Questions, ask me.
Hi Gale. Welcome to the group. We look forward to meeting you soon. Remy
