Tell us about yourself and your work.

I'm the co-founder of Electric Eggplant, along with my wife, Annie Fox. We're now creating apps for kids for iOS and Android devices.

Have you developed any iOS or Android apps? Tell us about them. What tools did you use to develop them?

We used Corona to develop our first two apps, available for the iPad, NOOK Color & Tablet, and the Kindle Fire and other Android tablets. These apps are based on the first two books of Annie's Middle School Confidential book series. See http://MiddleSchoolConfidential.com Besides continuing with this series, we're also working on the first official Rube Goldberg game with http://RubeGoldberg.com

What's your level of experience with App development? Novice (just feeling my way around), intermediate (I've gotten some programs to work, maybe published an app), expert (published multiple apps), wizard (could teach seminars on app development).

Somewhere between intermediate and expert.

What would you like to get out of this Meetup group?

Learn a lot more about Corona, Lua (the programming language Corona uses), meet other developers in the Bay Area, and share the knowledge.

Would you be interested in helping to run this Meetup group?

Yes, I am!

Introduction

I set up this group in conjunction w/Corona Labs. I've been a Corona SDK developer since Oct 2010, but also use Unity3D. I was one of the founding members at LucasArts (then Lucasfilm Games) in 1982, was a game designer/project leader through 1992.
