California Art Club: San Francisco Bay Area Chapter Quarterly Paint-Out!

Hey everyone, Gerald and I are both busy this Sunday, and the last Sunday of the month is Easter, so we decided to postpone it(unless someone wants to step up and organize their own Meetup?). In the meantime, this Saturday is the California Art Club paint-out. All are invited! You don't need to be a member to show up. Old Lakeville Road was a popular place when we organized our own meet-up here, so this should be a fun get-together.

San Francisco Bay Area Chapter Quarterly Paint-Out!

Featuring Signature Artist Member Douglas Morgan

EVENT Quarterly Chapter Paint-Out

WHEN Saturday, March 23, 9 a.m. - 4:30

WHERE Old Lakeville Highway #3, Sonoma County [map]

DIRECTIONS Take all roads that lead to Hwy.37 in Sonoma. Turn north on Lakeville Highway toward Petaluma. Lakeville Hwy is between Sears Point Raceway and Black Point. Make right in about 2 ¼ miles on Old Lakeville Rd.#3. Proceed until you see eucalyptus grove on left at the top of the first hill.

AUDIENCE All CAC members and friends

CONTACT Chapter member Karen Leoni, email [masked] or cell phone[masked] (for day-of use only, please!)

DETAIL Meet up under the grove of eucalyptus trees, on the left side of the road as you climb up the first hill heading north. The road is about a mile long -- it's a public road with large shoulders and no traffic, and there is plenty of parking along the length of the road. Meet back at the eucalyptus grove at 1 p.m. for friendly tailgating - bring your own lunch. You may stay to paint more after lunch.

Sorry, I will have to make it to one of your paint outs. However, on March 23rd we will be at an Art Reception at the Georgiana Gallery in Walnut Grove, CA. Sandy and I have several paintings hanging in this gallery along the river in the Delta. We are also the featured artists for the month of March at the Lodi Community Art Center. And, we will be showing our paintings at several others places in Elk Grove and Sacramento. I will be finished teaching my series of watercolor classes to adults in the evening from March this Thursday. I had 19 students with half of them beginners and the other half intermediate and advanced repeat students. I plan to take them on a Plein Air adventure soon.

It was really fun to paint on the Old Lakeville Hwy with everyone. Always surprises along the roads. After painting on #3, Sterling and I painted on road #2 with lots of green grass, trees and farm land. I love nice weather en plein air. I need to photograph my paintings and post them soon.

Thanks to Richard and the rest of the CAC organizers for letting us join in on their event! If you are not yet familiar with the California Art Club and liked the group, why not go check out their website and see if you like what else they offer?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
