***Greetings Painters, please remember to become members of PRNSA in order to qualify for the member rates for each Workshop!***
Enjoy an entire weekend painting outdoors on rolling cliffs and wide beaches leading out to Drakes Bay. See why countless generations of people have been inspired by the vastness and sheer beauty of the ocean. Come and be motivated by the Historic Lifeboat Station and its historic photographs of boats, men and marine habitats gracing the walls. We will study marine paintings by two great American painters: Winslow Homer (watercolors) and Armin Hanson (oils). Bring the medium of your choice. Joan will demonstrate and give insightful assessments: how to improve your painting or how to find a direction in you painting style. Come away with fresh new paintings and a deep understanding of maritime painting tradition and techniques. All levels welcome. Accommodations at the Historic Lifeboat Station included.
The instructor is Joan Hoffmann, she is wonderful!
Point Reyes Field Institute is a program of the Point Reyes National Seashore Association, the 501(c)(3) non-profit partner of Point Reyes National Seashore. We are proud to be partnering with North Bay Plein Air to offer some great plein air classes at the National Seashore! We do charge a fee to register for our programs to help raise revenue for habitat restoration, trail work, wildlife monitoring and provide much needed scholarships for under served youth to attend our environmental education programs. Thank you for your support and enjoy your time in the park! More information can be found at: www.ptreyes.org/about
