12:00am - 4:00pm - Let's Paint!

4:00pm - 4:15pm - Let's meet back near the shore to share our findings, techniques or just to chat (not a critique).

For those of you who have never visited Spring Lake Park, there is limited space along Montgomery Drive to park for free, otherwise, continue along the road to turn into the park entrance and park at the main lot.  There is somewhat of a hike to get to the meetup point from Montgomery Drive along the Spring Creek Trail. If you don't want to hike, I suggest paying for the lot if you don't have a regional park pass.

Great fun :-). Did 2 paintings (#4 & 5). Beautiful scenes, great friends new and old. Exciting lifeguard rescue of capsized boaters.

Came very late, but due to that caught the good light. Did two, but the first one was a scrape off, the second one a bit better. Nice location, wish a bit nearer home. There was a bit of excitement later in the day when a couple of kayakers overturned and had to be rescued by the life guards.

It was a good paintout. I enjoyed meeting many of you outdoor painters. I started a bit early and locked in shadows and tried to stay with them as the noon sun was a bit harsh and flat. It did improve near 4:00.

Glad so many folks enjoyed the location! I found the light flat and boring for the first few hours but I think the late-starters had the right idea!

I came early and did three sketches, walked around the lake and left when my boot sole started to fall off. Sorry I missed you guys.
