Greetings, all. I'm in Napa and hate that drive "over the hill," but miss the kind of intellectual stimulation and humor it sounds like you enjoy. Can't make it this week, but I'll try for the next time. Are all the meetings in Santa Rosa?

i used to enjoy the discomfort that religious people agonized over when ever they decided to try and argue my points or convert me back. now it saddens me. i guess i have become more compassionate in my ripe old age of 43.

i liked that you liked what i said in my post last night. and i feel your past pain and newly found happiness and freedom that you expressed here about having to pretend to believe in an imaginary friend and the utter discomfort that results if "god-forbid" you vocalize that there is no god to forbid anything.

I just want to say that after all these years I'm so happy to have found a group of people with whom I don't have to pretend interest in their religious affiliations. I also don't have to worry about the dead silence that was the result of my opening my mouth to say I didn't believe in God. Rena

i firmly advocate the elimination of all religions. this is or should be the next enlightenment, evolution/revolution that humanity needs in order to maximize our species potential. i spent my formative years, 0-18, as a devout catholic following blindly the dogma that goes with that so i know 1st hand how hard it is to break out of the social and family pressures to have faith and follow rather than question, use my brain and reason. i am proud to say that i managed to escape the bible thumping, hypocritical, sexist, mind controlling, ignorant religious lunacy into which i was born. if humanity as a whole could break out of these man-made fairy-tale belief systems like i did we could solve much of the social problems because i know that religion divides people and so many of our social problems stem from this one aspect of belief systems created by men to control the masses. in short, religion is "treason to reason", which is the working title of a book/life i am writing/ living.
