Crane Creek (Sunday Hike)

NOTE: I won't be leading any hikes for April while Zin recovers from her surgery. If anyone wants to hike earlier, please use the Suggested Event tab and I will make the hike officially announced.*

Crane Creek

"Large paved parking lot. $7 parking fee (no parking along the road outside the gate) via self registration using cash or plastic. On-leash only". The solar-powered parking machine here takes credit/debit cards, in addition to cash.

This trail is under 1 hour and has fairly level terrain. We can also do multiple loops depending on energy levels.

Great people, great dogs. We sure enjoyed ourselves. The only bad things were the ticks that we bought with us down the mountain. We picked plenty out of heir fur, and unfortunately, we also bought some home with us. Brrrr....

Pepita and I had lots of fun. It was just the right length and degree of difficulty. We will definitely be back.

I have four dogs, is it ok to bring a friend that hasn't joined the group but would like to come with me?

I apologize, this is the first group I have joined. I meant to join the group, not RSVP for this hike!

    Hi All:
I am planning on attending the hike. The issue is I have two dogs - one senior and one regular. The senior has arthritic hips. How vigorous is the walk?
Maybe it would be better to bring only Max, but that would be hard as they "come as a package."
    Thanks for the advice.

The one hill I would rate at a fairly beginner level, with the rest of the trails being level. As for the pace, Zin (~8 1/2 years) and I don't rush our walks. The Meetup hikes usually tend to split into two walking groups, one for the slower crowd and one for the marathon puppies.

Good luck little Zin. Be sure to get lots of pampering post-surgery. Maggi with Wilhelm

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
