Conventional wisdom tells us: 'we can't truly love anyone else, unless we are first independent and complete within ourselves'. Psychologists often agree with that idea one minute, then the next minute they say: 'a deep bond with another person is such a fundamental human need that we can not be emotionally whole and healthy without it'. How can we reconcile those two assertions?
Please arrive between 10:00 and 10:30 a.m. for no-host refreshments and socializing so we can begin the group discussion at 10:30. It is totally optional, but at least some of us will be staying for lunch after the group discussion.
