Urban Survival & Escape Class

-----------------------------------------------------------
Urban Survival & Escape Class

After completing a course taught by ex-CIA Agent Jason Hanson, one of our prepper members, Mike P, did his own research and put together a class reflecting practical skills in urban survival, kidnap avoidance, and hostage escape.

This unique class contains the following topics and hands-on exercises:

How To's:
- How to protect yourself on the street and in the mall
- How to erase your digital footprint
- How to hot wire a car
- How a typical lock works, including visual aids you can observe

Escapes (includes hands-on experience):
- Two ways to escape from duct tape
- Two ways to escape from rope
- Three ways to escape from plastic ties, regular & heavy-duty
- Three ways to escape from handcuffs, including double-locked
- Open doors without keys
- Open padlocks without keys
- Three ways to escape from a car trunk (with optional exercise)

You will take home:
- New knowledge and practiced skills
- Complete presentation handouts
- Complete resources with online reference links
- Your own escape took kit with various items

The fee is $37 in advance, $47 at the door, and space is limited to 20 people maximum.

What past attendees of Mike's class are saying:

Chad (from this group) said:
"Mike P, you rocked it today. The class was awesome.
I'm so stoked about the things you taught us.
Now I'm excited to equip myself and start practicing...
The clear window trainer locks were perfect
as training tools. Thanks for everything you did...

I think it's worth every penny."

What others have said about this class:

o "Mike P, well done and well presented."

o "Mike, Well done! Good information. The class really help me
to realize that one isn't helpless and out of the fight in
the types of situations you lectured on. The information
jump started me thinking about the many possibilities
at one's disposal."

o "Great job Mike!!! I really learned a lot. Thanks for taking the time
and expense to bring all this info to us. I will definitely be
adding this to my skill set."

o "Very Good and informative for the time we had. Their seems to be
lots more to explore and learn. Will be looking into the web sights
to expend my knowledge. Thanks Mike for doing this meet."

o "Just watched a recorded episode of Hostages and at the end,
they abducted the SS agent and zip tied his hands...
I thought to myself... he can get out of that easily,
now that you taught us how :-)"

Mike also highly recommends the full course from Jason Hanson ($297 to $599, 1-day or 2-day) as it contains more topics and exercises. The link is here: http://www.SpyEscape.com

Great job Mike! You rocked it! By the way, I just finished watching the SharkTank episode where Jason gets a deal with Damon to sell classes like this to middle America. It was cool to watch Jason demo the skills that we were learning today. I got to experience the "Hey! I know how to do that!" moment, thanks to you. He demonstrated the duct tape break method and the bicycle rope method. So cool.

I just saw it too on Hulu. I was very impressed with how well Jason conducted himself "under fire". He was cool, and calm. And if he had not been so decisive at the right moment, he probably would have not gotten that deal. But he came through. Now his life will change forever. I hope he does well.

This class was packed with info and the "hands-on" stuff was awesome. One of the best quality events I've attended in a while!

I just applied some Aloe Vera to my wrists and that has helped greatly. Aloe Vera is a great skin healer and it's antiseptic too.

I'm so glad you said that! Didn't want to confess that my wrists are a wreck! Well worth it though, and tomorrow I anticipate they will be my favorite color...

I've never been to our "clubhouse" and am just wondering if there is any reason I should not take the Vista Village Exit to Olive Ave.? I'm coming from Esco. but Goog Maps suggests a different route.
    Thanks

Do we bring our own lock picks (if we have them)? Will you be showing us how to make lock picks out of materials on hand, such as paper clips, etc. ?

Everything you need for this class will be provided. I will not be showing how to create improvised lock picks because that is something you can do for yourself much better, plus they are ridiculously cheap to buy. You will be making improvised cuff picks and you will be provided the materials for that as well.

This is for my husband and he is amped to do this! Sounds pretty awesome. Wish I could go but I will be almost 9 months pregnant and ready to pop. Hope this class comes around again in the future.

Congrats, Amanda! I'm sorry we don't offer advice on how to "escape" from that condition! LOL Yes, if the interest is there, we will definitely run this class again in the future.

To alleviate any confusion with the class being taught on Feb 14th for the Survival Preparedness Group, I offer this:

The class on the 14th is 8 hours long, being taught by Jason Hanson. It is the complete course.

This class for NCP is 3 hours long, being taught by me. It contains a lot of the hands-on stuff, and very little of the other things Jason teaches. It will give someone 90 percent of the hands-on, and extra practice for those who take Jason's class and didn't get enough practice.

Jason includes a lot of stories (really good ones), and disappearing off the grid stuff that I don't really cover very well. Plus stuff about disguising, navigating foreign countries, changing your ID, etc. You can imagine that in 8 hours he covers more stuff than I do.

Honestly, if you have any interest, I would take Jason's class first, then if you need more practice and are interested in the extra techniques, then take my class as well.

In my class (this one), I include a few techniques Jason doesn't include such as how to get out of double-locked cuffs, defeating plastic ties behind the back, and I have clear see-through cuffs and locks so you can really see what is going on (Jason does not have the see-thru gear).

Also I will give you printed reference links to purchase your own escape tools, and provide you with your own paracord, and other tools at no extra charge.

Also, if you are really interested in doing the car trunk escape, I would recommend you take Jason's class. In my class, we may or may not do that exercise. It depends on the class, the time, and if we have a car with a clean trunk available. In Jason's class, it's pretty much guaranteed you'll do that exercise.
