Wed Final Free Concert 2013-14 -The Sound of Pan, Calif Center for Arts Theater

We start the fun & socializing @ 4:30 at Swamis Cafe Escondido. We will also be joined by some members of other groups. This will increase the enjoyment and socializing.
Time may be too early for some so just post a message if you want to catch up with us later and get there by 6 so we can get over to the center by 6:15 to 6:30.

Happy Hour at Swamis Cafe  at 150 Grand AV, Escondido. Cross streets Maple & Broadway. Parking is free along Grand Av and side streets or use the free parking behind Swamis. If you're parked at the free car park just walk straight into the back patio at Swamis.
The lot is located between Valley pkwy & Alley off of Grand Av, located between Escondido Bl & Broadway. Access the entrance to the free car park off of Valley parkway or off Grand AV at Maple.

Get your check paid up and be ready to head over to Center for concert around 6: 15.  We should leave to walk across the street to the Performing Arts Center. Doors open 1 hour prior to show. Early arrival recommended.  First-come, first-seated. Tickets handed out upon entrance. Concert starts at 7 Sharp.
Theatre at the California Center for the Arts is located at 340 North Escondido Bl Escondido, CA 92025

The Sound of Pan: Feel the steel drum beat! Lively performance bu Keli Ross Ma'u director of Kainga Music Steel Drum School. We'll enjoy the electrifying sounds of original music as well as classic covers from such diverse artists as The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, and Ozzy Ozbourne.

Please RSVP if you plan to come. I need to make reservations and be courteous to the staff at Swamis as well as the California Center for the Arts.

In general if you have RSVP'd and don't check in you'll be counted as a no show.

It isn't necessary for you to confirm you're not coming, unless you need to change from a yes RSVP to a no, unable to make it.

This should be an awesome show with a lot of energy. HH at Swamis provides us with a great venue, good value and excellent service and it's only a hop, skip and jump to the Theater. California Center will stop the free concerts for the summer months but will resume in the fall of this year.

WOW First Wednesdays are generously sponsored by Lois Brossart.

Tickets: FREE!

Shows fill up fast so get here early or call us at (800)[masked] about becoming a WOW Member and reserving your seats.

This get together with friends was fun and enjoyable. Learned about the history of Steel drums and how they're designed. Amazing. Nice to have a school that teaches this unique musical art form and that many young people are interested. The music was great, made me want to be in Trinidad and Tabago feeling the gentle trade winds and liming on the beach.
A few photos to come soon.

Unfortunately, I couldn't stay for the concert but I'm sure I missed a good one. I was able to meet new members and visit with ones I've met previously. What a nice, good looking bunch of folks.

I would love to attend this event, but I'm going to have to see if I can switch my work schedule for that day. Also, I can't drive in the dark unless I it's someplace really familiar. Would anyone be interested in carpooling? I will chip in for gas, of course.

Betsy, the HH is pretty early, but the concert starts at 7. If you can get to the theatre by 6:30 or 6:45 we can hold a seat for you. Where did you want to ride share from? I'm already in Escondido but there are people coming from elsewhere and you can see if you can get a ride.
