Happy New Year to all,
I just want to send out this last personal email and reminder about the Meetup events tomorrow that I’m hosting for the group. Anyone who is still considering confirming, you still have time to RSVP. If you’ve signed up for the Happy Hour & the Cabaret dancer’ s performance you’re going to receive this email twice. (-:
Firstly for those that can make it, we’re meeting at 5:00 P.M. at Entwined Bistro & Wine Bar on Grand AV Escondido. I’ve reserved the Living Room for the group under my name and it’s a viewable area upon entering the bistro. If you need help finding it click on the link on the Happy Hour site and it will take you to a map and directions.
We’ll have an hour and a half to order drinks, appetizers and most importantly socialize and get to know each other a little before most of us head over a little before 6:30 to take in the Cabaret Dancers Performance at the California Center for the Arts, a couple blocks from Entwined.
It is walk able for those that prefer to walk a short 5 minutes and not move their car. However the center does offer free parking or you can chance parking at the car park for the cinema & restaurants across the street on Escondiodo Bl.
I need to be at the lobby near the doors of the Performing Arts center by 6:30 for the group. The performance starts at 7:00 P.M. I can always use a little extra help to greet people. If anyone can volunteer to hold an extra Meetup sign and/or scout out & hold seats for the performance at the theatre it would be really great.
Everyone please look for me as I’m looking out for almost 20 people and I like to have people sign in. This event has participants from two different MeetUp groups.
Lastly, I want to add that I see Meetup as a way to expand social circles and get to know new people. Please try to extend yourself to everyone. Introduce yourself and chat up everyone. If you’ve confirmed yourself plus 1, that’s great but remember you’re coming out to meet with a group of people, many of them you don’t yet know, so make sure you can count them as personal acquaintances by the end of the evening.
In other words, I’m asking you to plan to be present and part of the group’s energy if possible, not off doing your own thing.
I hope everyone can try to make the event a great success and feel that you not only got to see a great performance at the Center but that you gained new friends for the New Year.
