Dog Day Afternoon!

  • Jan 11, 2014 · 1:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Some of our members have been talking about their pets and showing photos like they are kids- they kind of are... (see Daria's crowd pleasing dog in the photo)

Here's your chance to come out and bring your furry friend out to meet some other members and their dogs too. It's actually a great way to meet new people and have a chat while the dogs sniff each other and chase tennis balls. (Just don't get those roles mixed up!)

There are two sections, one for big dogs and one for the little ones. We will meet in the BIG dog area, as they are not welcome in the little dog part, but any size are welcome in the big dog area.

Come see who else has dogs in our group and meet them!

This is Romeo, the world's friendliest Rottweiler, he'll be there too.

Check back here on Jan 11 to make sure it's not too wet out there, as they close it to let it dry out after a storm.

Plan A is call the hotline to see if the park it's planned at is open,[masked] if they are open, be there around 1:00. If not, we are still meeting at 1:30-3:30 on the patio at Katy Trail Ice House Outpost at 1:30-3:30pm
    4700 W. Park Blvd
    Plano, TX 75093
    Phone: (972)[masked]

You'll see Romeo, he will be hard to miss.

Make sure you check the Wagging Tail Dog Park HotLine[masked] with a recorded message detailing openings/closings before you head up there. 24 hours may not have been enough dry up time. (as of 9:30pm Friday night it still says closed)

even if the dog park is closed
We will still meet at Katy Trail Ice House Outpost at 1:30-3:30pm
    4700 W. Park Blvd
    Plano, TX 75093
    Phone: (972)[masked]

and dogs ARE WELCOME on the patio! (I just called & verified)

This is still an event for dogs - messy or not, right?

Just a warning! Eventhough it is sunny and in the 60's, if the dog-park itself is muddy, they will not open the entrance to allow anyone in until it is dried out. Let us know where else we can meet with our furry friends!

You can go to Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, west of Midway and Parker in Plano. Concrete trails would allow for a mass hike, clean feet and the ability to determine who can talk and walk at the same time... Plus, it's good people watching.

Not sure the weather will be conducive to this dog day out. When will we know if it is postponed? I'm game for the rain, though.

Maybe if the weather cooperates we can find a place with a patio that lets us bring mutts for a snack or a drink...

We should do I've of these in the spring at Mutts in Uptown. A whole dog "backyard" (it's huge) and an okay (not great) people menu.
