Love For Kids "All Kids Count" Picnic for Physically/Mentally Fragile Children

The Love For Kids, Inc., charity which hosts the annual Christmas Party in Flower Mound for several thousand underprivileged children will also be holding, this April, its annual All Kids Count (AKC) picnic, at the same location, the Circle R Ranch!

By contrast with the Christmas Party, which is for kids who are healthy but are economically disadvantaged, the AKC event is offered to children, regardless of economic status, who are physically or mentally challenged, and to their families. Many of the same activities as at the Christmas Party will be available to our guests, such as a petting zoo, hay rides, pony rides, arts and crafts, face painting, family photographs, games, and lunch (but alas, no Santa Claus).

Love For Kids will need the help of many volunteers to help make sure that our hundreds of guests have a wonderful and memorable time. Wouldn't it be great if a team of Dating Differently members could be there that day to help out, and also to socialize among ourselves and with other volunteers, including folks from several other Meetup groups? If you agree, and would like to be part of that team, please RSVP "Yes" on this page, please keep the morning and/or afternoon of Saturday, April 19, open for this heartwarming event, and then please ALSO sign up at the LFK web site at www.LoveForKidsInc.org/events/all-kids-count. On that page, scroll down to the “Volunteers Signup” section, choose your shift, and please list “Dating Differently” as your Organization.

I hope you’ll join me at this wonderful opportunity to “pay it forward” while also having a great time!

Thanks!

Tony

I believe the day was a success since our only casualty was a Nerf football. I can't wait to see the picture of Dianna scavenging for it.

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. HAHAHA

I'm sorry to hear that, Lorie. Hope your dog is okay. Thanks for letting us know you couldn't make it this time.

My apologies, I decided last minute to drive to Houston to see my son. We looking forward to this, but truly miss my family. Hope it goes well! See you all soon!

So my GPS thought it might be a fun morning for a tour of North Dallas. On my way but looks like I might be there right at 930. Wheee

I picked up a dozen red balloons to mark our station around the carnival games. All the heart shaped mylar ones said I love you and stuff.

Hello fellow fun seekers through service, I was wondering who else was planning on contributing all day Saturday. Also if you have done this before I am looking for a volunteer friend who enjoys directing and maximizing their giving.

I will be there most of the day, but have to leave no later than 2:30 due to a prior commitment as well. I will be sure to advise volunteer coordinators of this upon check-in.

I am looking forward to volunteering for this wonderful event. I recently retired teaching Special Needs children and would love the opportunity to spend time with "my children" again..
