North Fulton Drum Jam

This group is for anyone who wants to make music together regardless of experience. The idea is to delve into tradition at times and get creative and out there at other times. There are many wonderful communities of drummers, other musicians and dancers in the greater Atlanta area and I think we can create one in the North Fulton area. I’d like to get people from farther afield as well. This is not just for drummers--all are welcome. I ask that people not drink alcohol during the drumming and that we keep religion and politics out of the circle. We want to keep a positive and open environment that does not alienate any one. My name is Mark Poole and I have been drumming for nearly 20 years. I’ve lived all over the U.S. and England and have played with professional musicians and groups of school children alike. I have found that every group of people find a collective voice in that moment and sometimes individuals find a voice they never knew they had. please see our face book group. http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/group.p... We will be meeting this spring at Matilda's: 377 S Main St Alpharetta, GA 30009 http://www.myspace.com/matildassoundgarden. www.matildascottage.com They have live music every Friday and Saturday night from spring through fall. If you have never been to Matilda’s, it is colorful place filled with amazing folk art. We are will be starting before the show starts at 8pm. We will be taking donations for the venue. I suggest $3. Please try and stay for the show. It cost $10 and you can bring your own food and libation. Please refrain on the latter until after the drum circle.
