Potluck (and Saving Appalachian Gardens)

Originally scheduled for Tuesday, February 11th this meetup has been postponed due to inclement weather.

Please join us on Tuesday, February 18th at 6:30 PM at Cedar Hill Enrichment Center for another Permie Potluck.

In addition to bringing a dish to share, please be sure to bring your own place settings. This is a way to practice sustainability while cutting down on the amount of clean up for the staff and volunteers of Cedar Hill.

After dinner, students in the Appalachian Studies Minor at the University of North Georgia will share their experiences with collecting, banking, growing and sharing heirloom seeds. Using arts based research to explore ideas about community and sustainability, they've created visual exhibitions featuring the wisdom of the seedkeepers.

While there is no charge for this event, love donations are welcome to help cover the costs associated with meetup.com and utilization of the meeting space.

Be sure to comment below on what you are bringing to the potluck. We look forward to seeing everyone soon!

Listening to the students share the story of seeds and their passion for saving them and the history was fascinating. I learned so much. And, as always, the food was exceptionally delicious.

Okay, let's try this again...still going with Grandma's Egg Custard Pie since my chickens are producing some of the best eggs, even in this arctic weather. That's about as local as you can get, right out of the coop.
