Permaculture is a combination of two word "permanent" and "agriculture". Simply put, permaculture is a philosophy of working with rather than against nature. It is the study of the design of those sustainable or enduring systems that support human society, both agricultural & intellectual, traditional & scientific, architectural, financial & legal. It is the study of integrated systems, for the purpose of better design & application of such systems" -Bill Mollison, Permaculture co-founder The purpose of this group is to educate and inspire others about the principles of permaculture as a way to foster sustainable and resilient communities in North Georgia and surrounding areas. Most meetups will take place at Cedar Hill Enrichment Center, a beautiful 17 acre property between, Dawsonville and Gainesville, which is dedicated to community education and outreach through holistic and resilient ways of living with Earth and each other. Future Activities will include site tours, potluck and movie nights, workshops offering hands-on experience, guest speakers, and book discussions.
