Understanding Secure Attachment: The Key To Emotional And Social Health W/ Dr. Jay Kantor
If you have suffered and struggled due to long-term emotional, psychological, relationship, and also medical problems, this presentation is for you.
The quality of a child’s attachment to their parents, particularly their mother, is a major determinant of the child’s development and their ability to organize motivational, emotional, and memory processes. Attachment contributes to emotional regulation, social relatedness, access to biographical memory, and the development of self reflection and narrative. Attachment style begins in the womb and and establishes the blue print for all future relationships.
Dr. Kantor observed that adults seeking help for long-term problems, all shared a common history. None of the people coming for help had a nurturing relationship with either of their parents. None had what is referred to as a secure attachment.
In an approach not typical of conventional talk therapy, Dr. Kantor developed an experiential approach to therapy that enables a person to transform their attachment to themselves – the connection between their inner parent and their inner adult. This approach is capable of producing rapid, profound positive changes in emotional, psychological, and social behavior.
Our presentation tonight will focus on what constitutes the style of self treatment that leads to secure attachment. See what it takes to transform a dysfunctional attachment style to one that leads to happiness and success.
